During week one of EDLD 5363 Multimedia and Video Technology, we were tasked with creating a script about something personal to us, then producing a storyboard, editing photos to accompany the story, and finally assembling the story using iMovie for posting to YouTube.
It was quite an experience, especially in light of the SUPER busy week getting the new school year started, but I learned a lot and am very pleased with the result. The skills acquired during production of this video will be quickly applied at work.
Here is my storyboard, crude but very functional. Although I initially thought the storyboard was just an exercise in "doing it right", I was surprised to find how much it helped in the final production, and will use this technique in the future. I also discovered that I had to compress the embedded images down to 96dpi to get a storyboard PDF small enough to upload:
Here is my embedded personal digital story as posted on YouTube, "Tracks to the Future, Ties to the Past" which tells the story of how, for me, trains are a symbol of love and family. I am proud of this story, and I hope you enjoy it.
